What Is Net-Burner?

NET-BURNER easily combines into one file the contents of a CD with a program to burn it. You run this single program on your computer and it makes 1 CD.  It's a snap! The program is fully automatic, and there are no choices to make or settings to select. For your convenience there is no rebooting and no setup or installation. Just download and run the file- in minutes you have a new CD!

Do I need a CD Recorder?

Yes, and a blank CD.  If you are curious and don't have one yet, try it anyway!

Where can I get this file?

Look for the Burn CD Now button on this and other web sites. Click the button to download the file. Each button makes a different CD, read the descriptions to find out what is on it. What do you have to lose?

Why are there 2 different colors?

There are 2 types of Net-Burners- The Red one makes software CD's and the Yellow makes Music CD's.

How do I use it?

Here are the instructions written as quickly as possible:

  1. Download this file Burn CD Now- IE users can "Run from Current Location"
  2. Run this file.
  3. Done- You have a new CD!

For those wanting to be "walked through the process", here are the instructions written as simply as possible:

  1. Make sure you have Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, NT4 workstation, or Windows 2000 Professional.
  2. Make sure you have a CD recorder (or CD Writer or CD ReWritable Recorder).
  3. Make sure you have 1 blank CD-R or CD-RW disc.
  4. Press the "eject" button on the front of your CD recorder. And the tray will slide out.
  5. If there is a CD in it, remove it.
  6. Unwrap a blank CD-R or CD-RW and put it into your CD recorder.
  7. Pick a CD to make Let's use this one here: Burn CD Now- IE users can "Run from Current Location" Click it.
  8. If you are using Internet Explorer 4 or 5 select "Run program from current location", Click "OK" and Click "yes". If you are using Netscape it will save the file to your hard drive. When it is saved, go to it and double click it.
  9. A nice little Red window will open in the middle of your screen.
  10. Just wait for 2 minutes while it records.
  11. When the CD ejects press "OK" (The Red Applet will disappear and delete itself)
  12. To use the CD, push the CD Tray back in (gently). Wait about 10 seconds.
  13. A new Window showing the CD should popup. If not, open "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer", whatever is your preference. Locate the drive letter of your CD recorder and click it. There is your new CD!

What's a Wizard and Applet?

The Wizard is used to make Applets.  An Applet is the name of the file that burns the CD.  If you want to make your own Applets and CD's, please get one of the free Wizards... Either Music Net-Burner Wizard or Data Net-Burner Wizard.  They are fun to use and give you full control of the contents or songs on a CD.
